Final preparations

Only a few days left until departure! The last weeks flew by. Long working days and short nights. The most necessary things are completed, continuity is ensured and for the future is taken care of.

There was not much time left for preparation. Perhaps that is good. In view of the stately amounts of snow in the far north one could also despair.

At Easter I could still hope for a timely melting of the snow, but from the beginning of May it became clear that there would be more than a few patches of snow. So I added snowshoes to my summer holiday equipment list. Hopefully a compact snow cover will allow better progress. After all, I won’t have to hop from one snow-free patch to the next. Crossing of the scree fields can probably be more simple. Soon I’ll see if I’m just making this up.

Now the equipment is ready, everything fits into the backpack and the snowshoes can be easily attached to the sides. Even the food for 10-12 days fit in or on it. And I’m still lift and carry it.

Now the last week of work is still to come and on June 5 is then the long-awaited departure.
